If your devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi but still can’t connect, they may be on different network segments.

This usually means the devices are isolated from each other. Follow the steps below to fix it.

Common Fixes

1. Check Your Network Topology

Possible cause: Devices are connected to different layers (e.g., PC connected to the modem, phone connected to a separate router).

  • Compare the first three parts of both IP addresses
    (e.g., 192.168.1.xxx vs 192.168.0.xxx).

  • Fix: Connect both devices to the same router/network layer.

2. Check Proxy or VPN Settings

Possible cause: A VPN or proxy is enabled on the phone or PC.

  • How to fix:

    • Android/iOS: Settings > Network & Internet > Turn off VPN

    • Windows: Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy > Turn off all proxies
